Hazel Goodburn has had the privilege of singing with Vaughn Wiester’s Famous Jazz Orchestra since 2010, when she was in the seventh grade. She has performed with the FJO numerous times since then and credits Vaughn Wiester as an invaluable mentor and friend. In high school, Hazel sang for the Columbus Alternative High School jazz band and the Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra. Hazel double majored in Anthropology and vocal music at Ohio University from 2016-2020 and sang with the OU Jazz band and the OU Jazz combo band. Hazel appeared in several Ohio University Opera Productions. In May of 2024, Hazel Goodburn earned her MPH in epidemiology at The Ohio State University. She currently lives in Athens, Ohio.
