Ryan Hamilton
Ryan Hamilton is a former member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and is currently a member of the Columbus Jazz Orchestra. He is a regular soloist with the group and is prominently featured on their latest recording, Come Together. He also is the co-founder/leader and chief arranger for Such Sweet Thunder, an octet focusing on the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. He teaches low brass, brass ensemble, and jazz trombone studies at Denison University and Capital University.
Ryan is also the director of the Columbus Youth Jazz Studio, an honors ensemble for young jazz musicians. He is on faculty for the Jazz Arts Group Jazz Camp and the Dayton Jazz Labs Camp. Previous teaching positions include Otterbein University, Kenyon College, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and on faculty at Music for All’s Summer Symposium.
