Sean Maloney

Sean spent the next four years in Washington, DC as a member of the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. His time in the Marines took him all over the world to perform for presidents, prime ministers, foreign and domestic dignitaries of all types, and of course the brave men and women serving our country at home and abroad.

Following the conclusion of his active duty enlistment, Sean returned home and lived the civilian life for a while. He returned to service in the Ohio Air National Guard in 2015. In addition to his regular duties, he is a member of the Base Honor Guard. Sean carries the National Colors for ceremonies and parades, and performs Taps for around 50 veteran funerals each year.

Sean lives in Grove City, OH with his wife, Danielle, and their son, Ronan.

Sean Maloney started playing trombone and tuba in the school bands in Dublin, OH. Under the direction of Wendy Reeves and Dr. Jeff Keller, Sean developed a love for music that guided him through his young adult life. Sean first started subbing in the FJO around 2002, while still in high school, and took over full time in the tuba/trombone chair during his senior year. Studying tuba with Tony Zilincik and James Akins, and trombone with Jim Masters, Sean obtained a Bachelors in Music Education from the Ohio State University in 2010.
